THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University women's basketball team begins Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play on Thursday when the Bulldogs visit Mississippi Valley State. Tip-off against the Devilettes is set for 4 p.m. from the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.
Alabama A&M (4-8) enters the contest off a 72-58 setback at Richmond on Dec. 20 and will be looking to open SWAC play in the win column.
Mississippi Valley State (1-10) enters conference play riding a seven-game losing streak. The Devilettes are coming off an 86-62 loss to UAB on Dec. 20.

Scouting Mississippi Valley State
The Devilettes' lone non-conference win came on Nov. 16 as MVSU defeated Lipscomb, 72-68, in Itta Bena, Miss.
Desiree Smith paces the Devilette offense, averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 boards per game.
Mississippi Valley State ranked first in the conference in blocks per game, while Nairobi Lewis leads the league in blocks per game.
Series History
This will be the 30
th meeting between the two programs, with Alabama A&M holding a 21-8 all-time mark against Mississippi Valley State.
The Bulldogs come into the contest riding a 16-game winning streak against the Devilettes and have not lost to MVSU since Feb. 4, 2017 – a 58-52 victory against AAMU in Huntsville, Ala.
