TROY, Ala. | After their first conference series sweep, the Alabama A&M softball team dropped a pair of shutouts to the Troy University Trojans on Wednesday evening.

In the first game, the Trojans jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Troy saw two more runs in the second inning and solidified the 8-0 victory after a home run in the first at bat of the bottom of the third. Troy finished with eight runs on eight hits with no errors while the Bulldogs recorded five runs and two errors.

In the night cap, the host team used momentum from the first contest, opening the first inning with a home run that tallied three RBI's. At the bottom of the third, Reaghan Oney tripled to the right side that scored a pair of Trojans before she scored on a wild pitch to put Troy up 6-0. TU picked up their final two runs at the bottom of the fourth. AAMU was unable to get anything going, only recording one hit in the contest.

The Bulldogs travel to Montgomery, Alabama to take on Southwestern Athletic Conference in-state rival Alabama State for a three-game series over the weekend. The Bulldogs and Hornets face off Friday at 5 p.m. before Saturday's 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. doubleheader.
