Alabama A&M (7-15, 2-3) responded in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs, tying the game at 2.

Trey Rutledge struck out but reached on a passed ball. AJ Anderson drew a walk and Kylan Duncan brought Rutledge across with a ground out to the second baseman. After a walk to Charles Morris, Dre Amaral singled up the middle, scoring Anderson to tie the game.

The Delta Devils answered in the second with four runs, highlighted by a three-run homer to left by Jace Jones, taking a 6-2 advantage.

The Bulldogs closed the gap to 6-4 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning.

Elvis Victoriano drew a base on balls to begin the frame and scored on Angel Rivera's double to left center. Rutledge followed with a perfect bunt down the third base line as Rivera stopped at third. AJ Anderson brought Rivera across with a sacrifice fly to right.

AAMU cut the deficit to 6-5 in the third with one run as Morris and Amaral drew back-to-back walks to open the inning. With two outs, Rivera plated Morris with a single to center.
