Agustin Marquez Claims Singles Point in Loss to Blazers

Box Score

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | In a non-conference mid-week match up, the Alabama A&M University men's team fell 4-1 to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers on Thursday afternoon.

The Blazers were able to clinch the doubles point after 6-3, 6-4 wins on courts one and three, but the Bulldog pair of Goran Krivokapic and Arnav Pathange had the jump on UAB, leading 5-4 before the match went unfinished.

In the doubles session, the Blazers won the first set on all courts except sixth singles, where freshman Agustin Marquez claimed the first frame 6-2 before dominating in the second frame, picking up a breadstick decision (6-1) for the lone Bulldog point. The blazers claimed the remaining courts, leaving the first and fifth singles unfinished.
