TUSCALOOSA, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University men's and women's track & field teams opened the weekend with just one event on Friday during Day 1 of the Crimson Tide Invitational at the Sam Bailey Track & Field Stadium.
Amaya Mitchell-Howard brought home the gold in the hammer throw, capturing first with a toss of 54.89m. She beat out Indiana's Hannah Alexander (54.47m) and Louisiana's Kimola Ines (53.40m) to win the event.
On the men's side,
Ezekiel Salama continues his outstanding collegiate career by breaking his own school record in the hammer throw. Salama, who finished 11
th, had a toss of 51.45m, setting the school mark that was set in 2024 at 51.44m.
