Box Score JACKSON, Miss. | In a thrilling morning match, the Alabama A&M University men's tennis team clinches a close 4-3 decision against the Jackson State Tigers.
The Bulldogs started the match with a win in the doubles column after picking up points on courts two and three. The pair of Goran Krivokapic and Arnav Pathange picked up their fifth doubles win of the season after they defeated Federico Pickenstainer and Alejandro Pinilla 6-2 on court two. Shortly thereafter, Agustin Marquez and Yin Chih Lan defeated Jhoan Vaquero and Gokalp Ayer 6-4 on the third court.
Kai Cowcher was first to get a singles point, defeating Pinilla in 6-4, 6-1 straight sets. The Tigers bounced back and picked up three singles victories on courts three, five and six. At singles four, Tasso Moreira dropped a slim 7-6 first set decision before rebounding and claiming the following two sets, scoring 6-4, 6-2 wins to claim the court. With the match squared a three each, the victor came down to second singles. Chih Lan fell 5-7 in the first set to Pickenstainer but quickly recovered, taking 6-3 consecutive wins to claim the match in favor of the Bulldogs.
