BATON ROUGE, La. | Laila Gaynor continued her dominance in the 400 meters during the final day of the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Tuesday at A.W. Munford Stadium.
Gaynor bested Texas Southern's Cesley Williams and Florida A&M's Tatianna Martinez to win the event. Gaynor's time of 53.39 edged Williams mark of 53.40 to capture gold. In her second event of the day, Gaynor ran 24.41 to take eighth in the 200m.
Also, Gaynor was part of the gold-medal 4x400m relay team that featured
Victoya Smith,
Chelsea Whitehurst and
Brianna Samuels. The team posted a season-best time of 3:40.62 to capture gold and winning the race by three seconds over Alabama State.

WOMEN'S TRACK
- Brianna Samuels claimed the bronze medal in the 800m, registering a personal-best time of 2:09.29
- Samuels finished seventh in the 1500m, running a time of 4:46.22
- Chelsea Whitehurst placed seventh in the 400m hurdles, posting a time of 1:04.14
- In the 5000m, Sanyae Gibson and Norma Rodriguez finished seventh and eighth, with times of 19:22.46 and 19:30.53, respectively
WOMEN'S FIELD
- Leah Brown captured the silver medal in the discus, setting a new personal-best record toss of 45.04m
- In the triple jump, Akira Coleman placed seventh, with a leap of 11.80m, while Amber Jamison finished ninth at 11.73m
MEN'S TRACK
- The 4x100m relay team of Talil Atkins, Justin Walker, Shawn Lattimore and Donovan Horne set a new season-best time of 40.29 to win silver
- Eric Barker locked down the fourth spot in the 400m hurdles, registering a personal-best time of 51.17
- In the 100m finals, Dohnavon Hunt placed sixth, with a time of 10.50
- Bravin Kibitok finished sixth in the 1500m, posting a time of 3:59.79
- Kibitok also recorded a sixth-place finish in the 800m, with a time of 1:55.00
- In the 5000m, Juan Osorio just missed getting a point by finishing ninth in 16:41.69
- The 4x400m relay team of Barker, Isaac Jackson, Jahson Gordon and Atkins placed seventh, posting a time of 3:11.88
MEN'S FIELD
- Corey Harris posted a mark of 4.12m in the pole vault to claim sixth, while Deon Jones and Andrew Reaves were eighth and ninth, respectively, at 3.82m
