THE HILL | The Alabama A&M Women's Soccer team will see a myriad of new Bulldog faces at the start of the 2025 season after signing 15 in the offseason, head coach Prince Borde announced Wednesday afternoon.
"After making it to the SWAC semifinals, our focus remains on continuous improvement," Coach Borde said. "The 2025 class aligns perfectly with our program's goals and helps us keep building something special here at Alabama A&M."
Borde brings in 12 true freshman and three transfer athletes, coming from programs such as the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies, Southern Utah Thunderbirds and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Retrievers. The majority of signees have also participated in either an Elite Club National League (ECNL) team, Girl's Academy (GA) team or a National team.
"We're thrilled to have added three high school state champions and a club national champion to our roster," Borde said. "Each player brings unique talent and character, and we're genuinely excited about every individual in this class."
The signing group features six forwards, four defenders, three midfielders and two goalkeepers. The new talent comes from across North America, including Canada, Maryland, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Washington, Ohio and Florida. The roster also includes two hometown additions, with a pair of true freshmen from Bob Jones and Grissom High Schools in the metro Huntsville area.
"The fall can't come soon enough", said Borde. "There will be intense competition for spots, as we have a strong group of returners and three impactful transfers joining us. We were very close last season, and now our mission is clear—win the SWAC and represent Alabama A&M with excellence and class."
Though the schedule has yet to be released, Bulldog fans can expect thrilling match ups between conference foes, including Jackson State, Texas Southern, Grambling State, and home contests against in-state rival Alabama State and 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference Champions Southern University.
