NASHVILLE, Tenn. | The Alabama A&M University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams concluded the final day of the Music City Challenge with several top finishes on Saturday at the Vanderbilt Track & Field Facility.
WOMEN'S TRACK
- Chelsea Whitehurst just missed a Top 3 spot, finishing fourth in the 100m hurdles finals. She posted the fifth-best time of 14.46 in the preliminaries
WOMEN'S FIELD
- Amya Joy placed eighth in the high jump at 1.50m
- In the hammer throw, Amaya Mitchell-Howard finished fifth, posting a mark of 51.00m
- Akira Coleman placed fourth in the triple jump, with a leap of 11.90m, while Amber Jamison had a jump of 11.40m to claim eighth
- In the shot put, Abigail Jefferies finished fifth, registering a mark of 12.41m
MEN'S TRACK
- In the 400m, Jahson Gordon finished eighth, logging a time of 48.42
- Justin Walker, who ran the second-fastest time of 10.84 during the prelims in the 100m, brought home the bronze in the event, posting a time of 10.89
- Ryan Johnson posted the third-best time of 53.85 in the 400m hurdles
- Eric Barker finished fifth in the 110m hurdles, recording a time of 14.83
MEN'S FIELD
- Ezekiel Salama finished seventh in the hammer throw, with a toss of 50.35m
- In the pole vault, Corey Harris placed sixth, with a height of 4.10m and Andrew Reaves was eighth at 3.80m
- Preston London recorded a toss of 11.60m to place 10th in the shot put
- In the triple jump, Joshua Graham and Andre Jones finished sixth and seventh, with jumps of 13.67m and 13.49, respectively

Alabama A&M concluded its non-conference slate and return to action in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Track & Field championships May 11-13, hosted by Southern University, in Baton Rouge, La.
