THIBODAUX, La. | The Alabama A&M University volleyball team dropped the opening set before rolling past Abilene Christian, 3-1, on Friday morning during the second day of the Southland Conference/Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Challenge at the David R. Stopher Gymnasium.
 
Abilene Christian (2-6) fought back to win the opening set, 25-23, but Alabama A&M answered in the second, holding off the Wildcats for a 25-23 win. The Bulldogs (6-2) cruised to a 25-17 victory in the third set and closed out the match with a 25-xx win in the fourth set.
 
Alabama A&M finished with 45 kills, 41 assists, 34 digs, 13 blocks and six service aces.
 
Fatima Ramirez paced the Bulldogs offensively with 10 kills and three digs, while Rayishon Jackman added nine kills, seven digs, two assists, one service ace and one block. Sana Dennis and Carys Sanabria each added eight kills. Kaydee Smith and Briana Smith had 17 assists apiece, while Kelani Talakai led the defense with 14 digs.
 
Abilene Christian finished with 46 kills, 45 assists, 41 digs, six service aces and five blocks.
 
Hannah Gonzalez led the Wildcats with 15 kills, three blocks and one dig. Rachel Koss dished out 34 assists and Brennan Ramirez posted 12 digs.
