THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University volleyball team cruised past Arkansas-Pine Bluff during a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) matinee on Monday, 3-0, at T.M. Elmore Gymnasium.
Alabama A&M (10-3 overall, 2-0 SWAC) cruised to a 25-14 first-set victory and rolled to a 25-12 second-set win. The Bulldogs closed out the match with a 25-17 win in the third set.
Alabama A&M finished with 36 kills, hitting .292, with 49 digs, 31 assists, seven service aces and 6.0 total team blocks.
Rayishon Jackman hit .304 and recorded nine kills, 13 digs, two assists and one service ace.
Fatima Ramirez tallied eight kills and four digs.
Briana Smith dished out 16 assists and
Kelani Talakai added a match-high 24 digs.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-15, 0-1) finished with 21 kills, 41 digs, 18 assists, three service aces and 1.0 total team blocks.
Ashanti Butler led the Golden Lions offensively with a match-high 10 kills, hitting .364, with one assist. Martyna Lubowicz tallied 17 assists and defensively, Trinity Gibbs posted 12 digs.
