Dozier’s 26 Points Not Enough in Road Loss to UAPB

PINE BLUFF, Ark. | Kintavious Dozier scored 26 points, but it wasn't enough as the Alabama A&M University men's basketball team dropped the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opener, 95-83, to Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday at H.O. Clemmons Arena.

Back came the Bulldogs, using a 7-3 run to grab a 19-17 lead after a Dozier bucket with 11:37 left and stretched the advantage to 27-23 after an Eason basket with just over eight minutes to play.

A pair of Jaquan Scott free throws tied the game at 27, but AAMU got a trey and layup by Gabe Kincy, followed by a jumper by Eason to give the Bulldogs a 36-29 advantage with just over five minutes left.

Back came the Golden Lions, closing the half on a 12-5 run, as the two teams entered the break tied at 41.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-10, 1-0) began the second half on a 10-2 run, capped by a Milhan Charles dunk with 18:18 remaining, but Alabama A&M closed the gap to 55-52 after a Koron Davis jumper with just over 15 minutes to play.
