BATON ROUGE, La. | Michele Westmoreland placed third during traditional play as the Alabama A&M University women's bowling team concluded play at the Southern Queens on Sunday by finishing sixth at the All-Star Lanes.
Westmoreland tallied a 1,037 total pinfall, averaging 207.4 in five traditional matches to claim the third spot. She rolled 200-plus games, including a high of 243.
Rose Ugbinada was 10
th, with a 194.0 pinfall average, while
Alexis Orchard and
Nila Dulcio were 26
th and 27
th, respectively, with 177.0.
Alabama A&M began the weekend 4-1, defeating Alabama State (849-847), Florida A&M (859-846), Southern (923-914) and Texas Southern (930-926), while falling to Jackson State (958-885).
The Bulldogs went 2-2 during the Baker format, with wins over Grambling State (842-530) and Alabama State (913-853), but dropped matches to Sam Houston State (1,030-940) and UAB (1,013-864).
On Sunday, during round play, the Bulldogs defeated Alabama State, 4-2, but fell to Jackson State, 4-0, and Alabama State, 4-1, to finish sixth.
Alabama A&M will take a week off before competing in the Stallings Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. Feb. 27-March 1 at the AMF All-Star Lanes.
