WESTON, Fla. | The Alabama A&M University men's golf team opened its spring campaign over the weekend as the Bulldogs finished third at the Arcis HBCU Championship at The Club of Weston Hills on Monday.
The Bulldogs, who held a one stroke lead after the opening round, carded a 770 to claim the third spot as Florida A&M won the event with a 759. Alabama State placed second, with a 761. Southern shot a 779 to finish fourth and North Carolina Central (781) rounded out the field.
Vicente Rodriguez shot a 6-over-par 186 to finish tied for third as Florida A&M's Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul and N.C. Central's Mateo Zolezzi was tied for first. Viboonviriyasakul won the individual medalist crown on the first hole of a playoff.
Lukas Lange carded a 13-over 193 to finish tied for ninth, while
James Fujita was tied for 12
th at 195.
Samuel Boddie placed 17
th, with a 198, and
Kourey Patterson rounded out the scoring 19
th, with a 200.
