BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University guard
Koron Davis was selected the Men's Basketball Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Co-Newcomer of the Week, the conference on Tuesday.
Davis helped the Bulldogs to a 1-1 mark with a pair of road games. He shot 50.0 percent (10-of-20) from the floor and 92.3 percent (12-of-13) from the foul line in the two games. Davis averaged 17.0 points and 3.5 boards. Against Bethune-Cookman, he registered a career-high 28 points, on 10-of-14 shooting, along with four boards and one assist.
Prairie View A&M's Dontae Horne was chosen the SWAC Player of the Week, while Bethune-Cookman's Jakobi Heady earned SWAC Impact Player of the Week honors. Michael James, of Mississippi Valley State, also was named the SWAC Co-Newcomer of the Week.
Alabama A&M will have its final three regular season games at home, starting on Saturday against rival Alabama State. Tip-off during Senior Day is scheduled for 4 p.m. from the AAMU Event Center and streamed on SWAC TV.
