Koron Davis was selected the Men's Basketball Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Newcomer of the Week, the conference on Tuesday.
Davis helped the Bulldogs go 1-1 over the week as he averaged 22.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists. He shot nearly 43.0 percent (12-of-28) from the floor and 88.9 percent from the foul line. Davis posted 22 points in games against Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman, while also shooting 44.4 percent (4-of-9) from behind the 3-point line.
Jackson State's Daeshun Ruffin earned the SWAC's Player of the Week honor, while Tai'Reon Joseph, of Prairie View A&M, was selected the SWAC Impact Player of the Week.
Alabama A&M looks to get back into the win column on Saturday as the Bulldogs visit Southern. Tip-off against the Jaguars is scheduled for 5 p.m. from the F.G. Clark Activity Center and streamed on the Jaguar Sports Network.
