BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University redshirt junior outfielder
Miles Jackson was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Hitter of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday afternoon.
Jackson batted .429 through six games over the week. He went 9-for-21 at the plate, including two doubles, two triples and one home run. In addition, he drove in nine, scored six times and drew five walks. In an 13-8 victory over Stillman, the Atlanta, Ga. native was 3-for-4, with four runs driven in and had a .750 on-base percentage. Against Clark Atlanta, Jackson was 2-for-3, with the two hits being triples.
Florida A&M's Caleb Granger and Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Zach Wieder were named the SWAC Pitcher and Newcomer of the Week, respectively.
Alabama A&M will begin SWAC play on Friday with a weekend home series against Alcorn State. First pitch for the series opener against the Braves is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Bulldog Baseball Field.
