THE HILL | Alabama A&M men's tennis secured a 4-3 victory over Cumberland on Wednesday afternoon, edging out the Phoenix in a tightly contested match on Bulldog home courts.

The Bulldogs improved to 4-10 on the season after dropping the doubles point, but responded with a strong effort in singles play to secure the comeback victory. Cumberland claimed wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take the opening point. 

Alabama A&M answered in singles with four wins across the lineup. Arnav Pathange led the charge with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles. Juwan Bae followed with a strong 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4, while Eduardo de Benedictis Andreta secured a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5. At No. 6, Lebogang Mashego battled to a 6-2, 6-4 win to give the Bulldogs the decisive edge in the 4-3 match victory.

Despite losses at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, the Bulldogs put in the work to overcome the early doubles setback and clinch the 4-3 team victory.

The Bulldogs will remain on The Hill to host Alabama State on Saturday, March 21st. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
