TROY, Ala. | The Alabama A&M men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Troy on Saturday afternoon at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Alabama A&M opened the match with a strong performance in doubles play, securing the point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Juwan Bae and Yin Chih Lan earned a (6-3) win at No. 2, while Eduardo de Benedictis Andreta and Tasso Moreira followed with a (7-5) victory at No. 3 to give the Bulldogs an early edge.Â
In singles competition, Troy responded by winning all six matches to pull away for the team victory.Â
Eduardo de Benedictis Andreta also forced a third set at No. 5 singles, winning the opening set before Troy rallied to take the final two sets. Despite the early momentum in doubles, Alabama A&M was unable to carry it over into singles play.
