BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University senior guard
Kintavious Dozier was named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Basketball Postseason Second Team, the conference announced on Friday.
Dozier, a SWAC Preseason First Team selection, was the Bulldog Bash MVP and is a two-time SWAC Player of the Week honoree. He recorded 28 double-digit scoring performances, including a season-high 31 points in a win over Jackson State.
The Lanett, Ala. native also had a season-high 10 rebounds versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff and five assists against Arkansas-Baptist. Dozier is averaging 32.0 minutes, 14.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
Jackson State's Daeshun Ruffin was chosen the SWAC Player of the Year, while Alabama State's Jerquarius Stanback was named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year. Michael James, of Mississippi Valley State, and Antonio Munoz, of Grambling State, were selected the Newcomer and Freshman of the Year, respectively. Bethune-Cookman's Reggie Theus earned the SWAC's Coach of the Year honors.
