KNOXVILLE, Tenn. | Akira Coleman did it again as she placed third in the triple jump to highlight the Alabama A&M University track & field team's opening day of the Tennessee Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
Coleman recorded a jump of 12.25m to claim the third spot as Tennessee's Endia Smith won the event at 12.57m. Viktoria Rusnakova was second, posting a mark of 12.46m.
In the women's discus, Lean Brown continued her strong spring by finishing sixth at 42.54m.
On the track,
Shelby Sanders placed ninth in the 400m hurdles, recording a personal-best time of 1:01.69.
On the men's side,
Corey Harris finished ninth in the pole vault, registering a mark of 4.31m.
Alabama A&M concludes the final day of the Knoxville Invitational on Saturday at 8 a.m. from the Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
