ATLANTA, Ga. | Another meet and another school record falls as Saynae Gibson posted a career-best time in the 3000m steeplechase to highlight the opening day of the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday at the George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility.

Gibson registered a time of 11:10.22 in the event to claim the eighth spot. She broke the school mark of 11:36.50, which was held for 10 years, by Keanna McIntyre in 2016.

Laura Avila finished just outside the Top 10 in the 5000m. She was three seconds off her school-record time at 17:51.97 to claim 11
th.

In the 100m,
Joe Quez Keith finished third, posting a time of 10.46 as Kennesaw State's Chance Cross won the event in 10.37.
Sherman Lattimore crossed the line ninth, recording a time of 10.57.

Cameron Andrews placed fifth in the long jump, with a mark of 7.31m and
Olivier Jean was 11
th, with a jump of 7.05m.
