Alabama A&M Students Strive for Excellence

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Three outstanding students here at Alabama A&M are being recognized for their resilience and determination beyond the Hill. Alexandra Bryant, Nacala Williams, and Xavier Lankford are showing that success is not just defined by academic achievement, but by the courage to pursue purpose in the face of adversity. Each of their journeys reflects a powerful commitment to growth, leadership, and impact, inspiring those around them and proving that true excellence extends far beyond the classroom.

Bryant joined compliance in Fall 2023 and quickly worked her way up to become a full-time student employee. She will graduate in May and will continue her studies as a criminal justice major with a concentration in pre-law. During her time in compliance, Bryant has had the opportunity to represent A&M at the NFL Future forum and multiple times at the NCAA Forum. Alex says her time at A&M was invaluable to her development, leading up to her journey to Rome to pursue her pre-law career.

Williams joined compliance in Fall 2024, after serving as the manager for the Lady Bulldogs Softball team. Williams describes her role in compliance as the glue between athletes and administration, requiring her to be an around the clock people person. A skill that she used to earn opportunities at the 2025 ACC Conference Kickoff and will continue to use this summer as one of the few to be chosen for the Brooklyn Nets HBCU Fellowship. She will graduate in May and continue her education at North Carolina A&T where she will work towards a masters in Business Administration.

Lankford discovered his passion for the industry during a college internship under Vice President & Director of Athletics Dr. Paul A. Bryant, which laid the foundation for a career rooted in operations. Since then, Lankford has gained hands-on experience in event coordination, script writing, and sponsor management, contributing to high-profile events such as the Super Bowl and preparing to support operations at the upcoming NFL Draft. Currently pursuing a master's degree in logistics and supply chain management, Lankford also serves as a game administrator at Alabama A&M, where he oversees scripts and in-game presentations for football and basketball.
