CARBONDALE, Ill. | Alabama A&M women's soccer suffered an 8-0 setback against Southern Illinois on Sunday afternoon at Saluki Stadium.
Southern Illinois (2-2) opened the scoring in the fourth minute before adding three more goals to take a 4-0 advantage into halftime. The Salukis extended their lead with four second-half goals to secure the victory.
Alabama A&M (1-2) generated more offensive pressure after the break, recording six of its eight shots and four of its five corner kicks in the second half. Ryan McLemore and Brea Bailey led the Bulldogs with two shots apiece, while McLemore, Kyleigh Ward and Anita Frederick-Sigaran each placed one attempt on goal.
Alexa Leduff played a team-high 57 minutes in goal and collected three saves. Adriana Durango added one save during the opening 13 minutes, while Madelyn Cornwell closed out the final 19 minutes in net.
