COMMERCE, Tx. | Czaske Deane scored her third goal of the season as Alabama A&M battled East Texas A&M to a 1-1 draw Thursday night at Lion Soccer Field.
Following a scoreless opening half, the Bulldogs (1-3-2) broke through in the 56th minute. Kennedy Brown found Deane, who converted the opportunity to give Alabama A&M a 1-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs held the lead until the 81st minute, when the Lions scored off an assist to make the score even.
Alabama A&M created several opportunities throughout the match, recording 19 shots with five on goal. The Bulldogs and Lions each attempted nine shots during the first half before A&M added 10 more after the break.
Deane led the Bulldogs' attack with five shots, placing two on target. Ryan McLemore followed with four shots and two attempts on goal, while Brea Bailey contributed three shots with one on frame.
Goalkeeper Adriana Durango delivered a strong performance, recording eight saves and allowing just one goal in 90 minutes. The Bulldogs also registered a team save to finish with nine overall.
