Alabama A&M dug itself a 20-point first half hole Wednesday night, and despite a strong showing in the second half, the Bulldogs fell 90-69 at Murray State, dropping their record to 2-5 heading to Friday's game at Kentucky. Chaymieyon Moss led the way for A&M with 17 points in just 19 minutes of play in her strongest showing of the season. Dominisha Johnson and Katrich Williams each added 15 points, with Johnson grabbing a team-high seven rebounds as well.
The Racers opened up a tight game midway through the first half with a 9-0 run that pushed the lead to double digits and slowly pulled away to a 48-28 halftime advantage. Alabama A&M held serve in the second half, but was unable to overcome the first half deficit.
The Bulldogs hit just 33 percent from the floor (21-63) and 37 percent from behind the three-point arc (4-14). The Racers, meanwhile, connected on eight three-point baskets and a perfect 15-15 from the free throw line during the contest.
