Chaymieyon Moss scored 19 points, and Alabama A&M closed a 10-point halftime deficit to just one point twice late in the second half, but Alabama knocked down its free throws and prevailed 76-65 Monday afternoon in Tuscaloosa. Moss' 19 led three Bulldogs in double figures. Katrich Williams added 12 and Ashleonte' Samuel 10.
The Crimson Tide (9-3) closed each half with runs to open up a tight game. Leading 19-18, Alabama closed the first half with a 15-6 run over the final 4:37 to lead 34-24 at intermission. The same thing happened in the second half after A&M closed to within 57-56 with 5:41 to play. Alabama A&M (2-7) was forced to foul down the stretch in an attempt to come from behind, but the Tide closed the deal by making free throws.
The Bulldogs will break for Christmas until Dec. 29 when the Bulldogs travel to UAB for a 7:00 p.m. tip.
