After Alabama A&M (12-21, 7-11 SWAC) won the first two games of a four-game set on Friday, Jackson State (28-15, 11-7 SWAC) responded with a doubleheader sweep Saturday at Bulldog Field. The Tigers won 14-3 and 22-2 to earn the series split. Maverick Scott's two-run triple in the second game served as the Bulldogs only hit as the game was shortened to five innings because of darkness. LaDale Hayes also had an RBI triple in the first game to highlight the offense.
Bernard McKinney sufferred the loss in the opener going 5.1 innings and giving up seven earned runs. A.J. Campbell took the loss in game two. The Tigers scored 13 runs in the fifth in the second game.
Alabama A&M is home on Tuesday facing Arkansas-Monticello at 1:00 p.m.
