A&M Drops Second Straight to Wichita State

WICHITA – The Alabama A&M Bulldogs dropped their second straight contest, this time on the road, at Wichita State University 71-49. A&M scored a season low 14 points in the second half.

The Bulldogs (3-4) was led by Cornelius Hester who had 17 points for the Maroon & White.

A&M's bench outscored the Shockers reserves 16-6 in the first half to keep the Bulldogs close going into the breakdown 38-35.

A WSU 11-5 run to start the second half pushed the Shockers lead to 49-39 and a command of the game that the Shockers never unleashed.

The Bulldog reserves held firm in the first half but was held scoreless in the second while Wichita State committed a season high 20 turnovers in which A&M earned just 12 points.

The six of 31 from the field for 19% shooting in the second half for the Bulldogs was the lowest during the 2010-11 season.

A&M’s non-conference schedule does not get easier as they travel to Birmingham, Alabama on Sunday, December 19, for a 7 p.m. date with the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
