Box Score / The Alabama A&M women's basketball team dropped a 61-55 decision to Jackson State on Thurs. March 4 at Elmore Gym. Whiquitta Tobar tallied a career-high 24 points and pulled down a team-high seven boards to lead Alabama A&M in the loss. Dominisha Johnson was the only other Bulldog in double figures with 10 points on the night. A&M is back in action on Sat. March 6 when it hosts Grambling for senior night. The game is slated for 4:00 p.m.
For the game, the Bulldogs were held to a 35.3 shooting clip (18-for-51). The Tigers shot just 33.9 percent from the field (20-for-59), but held a 41-36 edge on the glass over A&M. Jackson State's bench outscored A&M's bench 25-13, with the Tiger's Mar'chetta Parker leading the way with a team-high 17 points.
JSU was had two other players in double figures. Tiffany Haggen had 14 points and eight boards, while Rachel Jones finished with 11 points.
The Bulldogs will host senior night on Sat. March 6 against Jackson State beginning at 4:00 p.m.
