Bulldogs Take Series From Hornets

Game 1 / Game 2 / Game 3 - A&M baseball ended its season on a high note by taking two games from in-state SWAC rival Alabama State this past weekend. The Bulldogs defeated the Hornets by scores of 10-5 and 5-4 in the first and third game, but dropped the second match 5-2. A&M also honored its seniors Jeremy Bush, LaDale Hayes, and Phillip Guthrie. The team finishes its 2010 campaign with a 17-31 record.

AAMU 10, Alabama State 5
Sanchez Tucker went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and a RBI. Noel Santos recorded two hits on the day. Hayes had a hit and three runs scored, while Norbert Riggins, Paolo Glaude, and Duarte had two runs each. A.J. Campbell received the win - striking out six batters in seven innings.

Alabama State 5, AAMU 2
The Bulldogs had nine hits to Alabama State's seven, but struggled to round the bases. Duarte drove in Santos twice, while Santos recorded two hits on three attempts at the plate. Chris Hernandez took the loss on the mound - striking out three, but giving up four runs in 7.1 innings of work.

AAMU 5, Alabama State 4
Hayes went 2-for-4 with a run and a run batted in. Lamar Bridges recorded two hits and a RBI. Gutherie recorded the win in his last game as a Bulldog - fanning six batters and allowing only three hits in 6.1 innings pitched.
