NORMAL – The Alabama A&M baseball team fell 7-2 to the Florida A&M Rattlers on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the A&M home opening series.
The Bulldogs (1-7) totaled a season high 10 hits off of two Rattlers pitchers. Short stop Lamar Bridges led the Maroon & White with three hits and two runs. Right-fielder James Brown and third baseman Kency Duarte finished the game with two hits each. Brown also struck out three Rattlers in relief.
FAMU took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back. They would go on to score a run in the second, fourth and seventh innings to take a 7-2 victory.
A&M hits the road for their next contest traveling to Selma, Alabama to take on the Selma University Bulldogs. Game time is set for noon.
