NORMAL—The Alabama A&M baseball team is set for their cross-town showdown versus the University of Alabama at Huntsville on Wednesday, March 23, at 3:30 p.m. at the Bulldog baseball field.
Last weekend the Maroon & White were swept in their first three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference home series. The Braves of Alcorn State University defeated A&M 8-4, 20-0, and 14-4 during the two day event.
Kency Duarte leads A&M with a .365 batting average. The second leading hitter on the team, Adam Mitchell, is batting .273. Norbert Riggins is tops on the squad with six RBIs while Deon Hall is second with five runs batted in.
UAH (17-10) enters the weekend winning a three game series versus Lambuth. As a team, the Chargers hit .326 and have belted 15 home runs on the year. Leading the team in that category is Grant DeBruin with a .439 batting average and also a team leading 37 RBIs.
