NORMAL – In what was deemed the cross-town showdown the Alabama A&M Bulldogs fell to the University of Alabama at Huntsville 12-2 in nine innings in a windy, rainy contest.
A&M (2-17, 0-6 SWAC) picked up their two runs from Kency Duarte and Chris Thomas. Starting pitcher Chris Thomas recorded two strikeouts versus the Chargers. Deon Hall and Sanchez Tucker each finished with an RBI.
After six innings played UAH held a 5-2 lead before they exploded with a 6-run seventh inning to open the score by nine runs. The Bulldogs picked up 10 hits in the game but left 12 on base.
The Maroon & White will travel to Jackson, Mississippi this weekend for their third three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series this season. The games are set for Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27th.
