Box Score LORMAN - The Alabama A&M women's basketball team dropped a 49-45 decision to Alcorn State on Monday night at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex.
Senior Whiquitta Tobar tallied a team high 16 points and seven boards to lead Alabama A&M in the loss. Senior Nadra Robertson and sophomore Jasmine Sanders each scored eight points on the night.
For the game, the Bulldogs were held to a 40 percent shooting clip (18-44). The Braves shot just 33 percent from the field (17-51), but did not control the boards as A&M held a 41-36 edge on the glass.
Alcorn State's bench outscored A&M's bench 20-8, with the Braves’ Renelle Richmond leading the way with a team-high 14 points.
ASU’s Carolinsia Crumbly had 10 points, while Kiara Ruffin grabbed eight rebounds for a game high.
A&M is back in action on Sat. Jan. 28 when it hosts Texas Southern. The game is slated for 3:00 p.m.
