AAMU Takes On No.22 Kansas in Women's Basketball

LAWRENCE - The Alabama A&M Women’s basketball team will take on the No.22 ranked team in the country, the Kansas Jayhawks, in Lawrence Kansas, on November 23, 2012 at 7 p.m.

The Strickland sisters are leading Alabama A&M through the season thus far in points. Brittney is averaging 10.3 per game while Alyssa has 8.3 on the year. Junior Jasmine Sanders leads the team in rebounds with 8.0 per contest.

As a team, Alabama A&M shoots 32 percent from the field and 31% from 3-point range. The Bulldogs average five 3-pointers per game with four different players hitting at least 14 this season. The A&M defense forces 3.8 turnovers per game on nine steals while blocking 3.3 shots per game.

Kansas is No. 22 in this week's Associated Press Top-25 Poll, which is the first time KU has been ranked by the AP since Jan. 4, 2010. The Jayhawks are also ranked No. 23 in this week's USA Today Coaches Top-25 Poll.
The Jayhawks enter the game against AAMU with a 46-game win streak in non-conference, regular-season home games. The last time the Jayhawks lost to a non-conference foe at Allen Fieldhouse during the regular-season was Xavier on Dec. 31, 2006
