Lady Bulldogs ready to hit the road against Memphis

NORMAL - After being off the court for three weeks, the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A&M are ready to hit the hardwood, to take on the University of Memphis Tigers at Elma Roane Fieldhouse on December 14th. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.

Memphis fell to Illinois 73-65, this past Sunday. Three Tigers recorded double-figures as they dropped their fourth game in a row.

In A&M’s most recent contest the Jayhawks of Kansas defeated the Maroon & White 76-59 three weeks ago at Allen Fieldhouse.

The Lady Bulldogs (1-3) dropped their third game of the year and shot 44 percent (26-for-58) from the floor and 55 percent (5-for-9) from the free throw line. Kansas won the battle on the glass, grabbing 49 total rebounds to A&M‘s 23.

The Maroon and White were led by NaDra Robertson with 12 points, while teammates Ebony Johnson and Shundray Davis each added 11.

Head coach Altherias Warmley is ready to get back on the sidelines with her team.

“With this long break it gives our ladies a chance to heal from their injuries. We also worked on new plays we wanted to incorporate into our system,” stated Warmley.

This is the second time these two teams have met. Memphis defeated the Lady Bulldogs 81-72 in the 2007.
