Lady Bulldogs Fall Short To Murray State

Box Score Murray, KY - The Lady Bulldogs women's basketball fell short to the Racers of Murray State 69-54, Sunday afternoon in the CFSB Center.

The Lady Racers went on a 17-0 run in the second half to defeat the Lady Bulldogs 69-54, in the CSFB Center on Sunday afternoon.

A&M scored first with a jumper by Jasmine Sanders after the opening tip. Both teams traded baskets until the Maroon and White outscored the Racers 12-6 with 12:34 remaining in the first half.

Murray State went on a mini run to tie the game at 20 all with a three pointer from Mariah Robinson. Robinson would score the last six points to end the first half 30-24.

In the second half that’s when the tables turned. The Racers came out the block scoring 11 straight points to extend their lead 40-24.

A Clairissa Moore lay-up with 5:32 left in the second half cut the game within three. However MSU went on another 8-0 run to extend the lead 59-48. Free throws down the stretch for the Blue and Gold sealed the 69-54 victory.

Sanders led A&M with 18 points as she went seven for 11 from the field and was perfect from the charity stripe, going four for four. Alyssa Strickland went four for eight from behind the arc as she ended the afternoon with 13 points.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 34% from the field while shooting 58 percent from the stripe. A&M totaled 36 rebounds, as NaDra Robertson led the team with nine.

The Lady Bulldogs will continue its road trip in the World Vision Invitational hosted by the University of Nevada at Las Vegas on December 19th.  Their first round opponent will be the highest ranked team they will face this season the No. 5 rank University of Notre Dame Fightin Irish.
