HUNTSVILLE
– On the second day of the opening series for Alabama A&M baseball Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne found their offense in the second game of the season, which happened to be game one of a scheduled doubleheader.

The Maroon & White totaled seven hits but left 10 on base as IPFW finished with 10 hits and 11 runs.
Freshman Walton Ashwander was the only Bulldog to post multiple hits going 2 for 3 with a run.  Freshman Blake Perry recorded the first loss of the year for A&M.

Game two of the doubleheader opened with IPFW scoring first, but a three-run fifth inning was the difference as the Bulldogs walked away with a 3-2 victory.

Freshman Allen Belue was on the mound for the Bulldogs. Belue allowed five hits through seven innings. He walked three and struck out six.
Sophomore Julio Nunez and freshman Dylan Johnson led the Bulldogs going 2 for 3 from the plate.

A&M will play the Dons again on Sunday, February 19. The final game of the four-game series is scheduled for a 12 p.m. first pitch.
