Alabama A&M Elevates Whitlow as Head Baseball Coach

THE HILL | Alabama A&M University Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Paul A. Bryant announced on Wednesday that he removed the interim tag and promoted head baseball coach Louis Whitlow.

"Coach Whitlow possesses all of the characteristics we were seeking to lead the Alabama A&M University baseball program," Bryant said. "Those include coaching ability, passion, energy, program knowledge, character, integrity and his ties to Alabama A&M."

Whitlow served as an interim head coach during the 2025 season after taking over the program in mid-October.

"I am extremely grateful to Dr. Bryant for his trust in my leadership," Whitlow said. "My goal is to continue to make Bulldog Nation proud by bringing not just an excellence in standard in the classroom, but also on the baseball field."

Whitlow, who has more than 15 years of coaching experience, has contributed to teams at Travel Showcase Baseball, Monrovia Middle School, Adult League Baseball, and Alabama A&M University Baseball. His 10-plus years in specialized team training include private coaching for hitting, pitching, fielding, and catcher training.

Whitlow, who is a 1999 graduate of Huffman High School in Birmingham, Ala., is a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He also graduated from Alabama A&M with a bachelor's degree in communications, with a minor in Marketing. He later advanced his expertise with a dual master's degree in management and human resources from Florida Institute of Technology, along with an international certification in personality studies.

Off the field, Whitlow enjoys spending quality time with his family, including his three sons, Lamir, David, baby Ace, and his supportive wife, Tiffany. He remains an active advocate for the City of Huntsville, showing dedication to the community that he has cherished since his days at Alabama A&M University.
