PINE BLUFF - The Alabama A&M women’s basketball three game win streak continues as the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Lions of Arkansas Pine-Bluff 61-55 Saturday night.
A&M (11-9, 6-4 SWAC) was led by Senior All-American Candidate Whiquitta Tobar who posted 19 points, five assists and four steals.
Sophomore guard Alyssa Strickland contributed nine points and four rebounds.
This was the 19
thcontest that Tobar has scored in double figures for the season. This also was head coach Altherias Warmley 95
th career SWAC win.
The Maroon & White struggled in the first half shooting 7 of 26 from the field for only 26 percent, outscoring the Lady Lions 24-14.
The second proved much different as UAPB found a rhythm and scored the fourth most points in one half this seasons outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 41-37. The Lady Lions shot 11 for 24 for 45 percent.
