Bulldog baseball set for final home series

NORMAL – The A&M baseball team will host the Alcorn State Braves in their final three-game home SWAC series of 2012. First pitch is set for the doubleheader at 12 p.m. on Saturday and the series will conclude at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

A&M has already been eliminated from post season play as they currently have a 1-17 league mark and an 8-36 overall record.

Freshman Josh Freeman has posted a 4.68 ERA in 10 appearances and a 2-7 win-loss record. Ryan Bowling however has the most strikeouts on the team with 31 in 13 appearances on the mound.

Norbert Riggins has been the most consistent hitter batting .264 in 43 games with 33 hits, 17 runs, 17 runs batted in, three doubles and a triple.
