NORMAL -- The Alabama A&M baseball team played the final home contest of the 2011-2012 athletic season for the Bulldogs.  Unfortunately they fell in all three games 9-0, 8-2 and 7-6.

In game one Brandyn Crutcher lead the Bulldogs going 3-4 at the plate.

Alcorn’s Steve Easter got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He pitched nine shutout innings. The Alcorn State pitcher struck out 10, walked none and surrendered six hits.

The Braves pushed across four runs in both the fifth inning and the ninth. In the fifth, Alcorn State scored on a two-run error, plating Gonzalez and Warren.
 
Game two saw Jordan Friend go 2-4 at the plate, but it wasn’t enough as A&M fell 8-2 to Alcorn State in the second game on Saturday.

The Braves Troy Williams got it done on the hill on the way to the win. He allowed two runs over nine innings. The Alcorn State pitcher struck out one, walked none and surrendered six hits.

The lead stayed with Alcorn State after the sixth, when they scored two runs on an RBI double by Rodney Warren and an RBI single by Angel Rosa.

Alcorn State increased its lead with four runs in the seventh. The inning got off to a hot start when Alvin Jackson singled, bringing home Barney. That was followed up by Gonzalez's double, bringing home Jackson.

A two-run seventh inning helped bring A&M within four. A groundout by Julio Nunez and Norbert Riggins gave Alabama A&M University life. Finally, Williams got Walt Ashwander to ground out to end the threat.
 
It took 10 innings, but A&M was unable to capture a win in the final home game of the 2012 season on Sunday.

The top of the second saw Alcorn State take an early lead, 3-0. A single by Edgardo Salas, bringing home Warren started the inning off.

Alcorn State brought home one run in the eighth inning, and matched that run total in the tenth. In the eighth, Alcorn State scored on an RBI double.

The Bulldogs answered Alcorn State's top inning with three runs of its own in the eighth. They scored on an RBI single by Jordan Friend, and two errors.

The game was never in doubt after the tenth, as Alcorn State scored one run on a solo home run by Rodney Warren.

Alabama A&M ends their home season 8-18.  They will travel to Jackson State on Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6, for their final series of 2012.
