Women's Basketball Falls To Alabama

TUSCALOOSA - The Alabama A&M women's basketball team fell to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide 60-32, on Monday night in Foster Auditorium.

With the loss A&M drops to 0-4 while the Crimson Tide picked up their second win of the year.

The Tide held AAMU scoreless until the 15:22 mark of the first half and led by as many as 29. Alabama continued to lead throughout the second half, not allowing Alabama A&M to get any closer than 18.

The Bulldogs turned the ball over eight times in the first half and shot four of 28 from the field for 14 percent.

Alyssa Strickland finished with a team high 10, while junior guard Alganese Gatson paced the Lady Bulldogs with 10 rebounds. Senior Guard Taylor Sippial finished the game with seven points.

For Alabama, Nikki Hegsetter scored 13 points, while Shafontay Myers added 12 points to go along with six rebounds which led the Tide.

Up next the Maroon and White travels to Johnson, Tennessee, where it will take on East Tennessee State University on Friday, November, 29, at 7 p.m.
