Baseball drops contest to Samford

Normal- The Alabama A&M baseball team dropped their first road test of the season to Samford University 12-1, Tuesday night in Birmingham.
 
The Maroon & White’s Bradley Black and Jordan Benford each went 2-for-4 at the plate. Black scored the only run for the Bulldogs, as Benford singled a pitch up the middle, and a Samford defensive error allowed Black to advance home.
 
Benford (0-1) took the loss on the mound, pitching four innings, allowing six runs, just four earned, on nine hits.
 
Julio Nunez led the A&M defensive charge, tallying 10 put outs and one assist.
 
Samford was led by designated hitter C.K. Irby, who went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI.
 
The Bulldogs will return to action Thursday, February 21st as they take on Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.
