Baseball swept by Savannah State

Normal- The Bulldog baseball team dropped a three-game series to the Savannah State Tigers this weekend at Tiger Field in Savannah, Ga.

In game one, the Bulldogs were left off the scoreboard as the Tigers took the seven-nil victory. A&M recorded six hits in the contest with Bradley Black and Patrick Dodson recording two each.

The Maroon & White narrowly earned a victory in game two; however, the Tigers edged them out 8-7 in extra innings. Bradley Black hit his first home-run of the season to tie the score at one-one in the top of the third inning. After falling behind 3-1 in the bottom of the third, the Bulldogs retied the game in the top of the seventh and went on to take a 7-3 lead at the top of the eighth. SSU would answer with four runs of their own in the bottom of the ninth, forcing the game into extra innings.

SSU earned the victory when Antonio Scott scored the game winning run on a Zach Bryant single in the tenth inning.

Austin Hulsey totaled three hits and drove in two runs for A&M in defeat.

In the third and final game of the series, the Bulldogs were defeated 10-5.

Hulsey again led the Maroon & White in defeat driving in two runs.

The Bulldogs will return to the diamond Tuesday, February 26th when they take on Lipscomb University at 4:00 p.m. This game can be followed via live stats.
