Baseball falls to North Alabama, 6-1

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The Bulldog baseball team fell to the Lions of North Alabama, 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs were tripped up by the neighbors from the Florence, Alabama as A&M was held to three hits and gave up three errors.

Those connections at the plate came by way of Austin Hulsey, who also scored the lone run, Jordan Friend and T. J. Lindsey.

The run came when Hulsey connected on a hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. Hulsey stole second then advanced to third on Friend’s single. Brandon Crutcher then grounded out to second base which allowed Hulsey to score giving Crutcher the lone run batted in.

Five different pitchers were used on the mound for AAMU but Allen Belue earned his fourth loss of the year after going two innings and facing 12 batters.

Alabama A&M will welcome Alcorn State University in a Southwestern Athletic Conference series on with a doubleheader set for Friday beginning at 1 p.m. and a single contest on Saturday with a first pitch set for 1 p.m.

All games will be played at Bulldog Field.
