NORMAL - The Alabama A&M softball and baseball teams will host Jackson State and Alcorn State to a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series this weekend.

The Lady Bulldogs (10-15, 3-2 SWAC) earned three Southwestern Athletic Conference victories by defeating Grambling State, Prairie View, and Arkansas Pine Bluff in last week roundup.

Leading A&M at the plate is junior Jasmine Riley with a .333 batting average.

The Lady Tigers bring in a 17-20 overall record and a perfect 4-0 conference mark with Jasmine Warren leading the team with a .338 batting average.

The three-game Eastern Division series will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday with double header and a single game on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

The Bulldog baseball team will look for their first league win when the Braves from the reservation visit “The Hill”

Similar to softball, baseball (2-23, 0-3 SWAC) will open their trifecta with a doubleheader set for 1 p.m. on Friday, March 28th and a single contest set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th.

Freshman Austin Hulsey leads A&M with a .326 batting average in 24 contests played.  He leads the team with eight doubles and 13 RBI’s.

Alcorn State (4-23, 4-4 SWAC) is led by Cedric Bell who is hitting .381 in 18 games played.

The events will be held at the Bulldog softball and baseball fields.

Both series are free and open to the public.

Live Stats will be available for both sports by clicking here for softball and baseball.

The Alabama A&M football team will take to Louis Crews field for the first time in 2013 when they participate in the annual Maroon vs. White spring game set for Saturday, March 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Louis Crews stadium.

The spring game will close out the spring drills the A&M football squad has been participating in for the last two months.

Head coach Anthony Jones and his staff will look for consistency as he replaces five starters on offense and six on defense.

Fans are asked to come out and set up your grill and enjoy a beautiful day of Bulldog sports.  Tailgating will be allowed all day in the Louis Crews stadium parking lot in front of the home grand stands.
