Bulldogs to face Hornets in Conference play

Normal- Bulldog baseball will hit the road, and head south to Montgomery, Ala. to face conference rival the Alabama State Hornets.

The 2-12 Bulldogs, coming off a conference opening loss to Jackson State and a close 8-7 loss to Samford University, will take on the 9-5 Hornets of ASU in a two day three-game series. The contest will take place Saturday March 9^th, and Sunday, March 10^th.

The Hornets are 1-2 in conference play after a three game series with Alcorn State. They will enter the series with the Bulldogs coming off a one-nil home loss to the Gamecocks of Jacksonville State University.

Leading the Hornets at the plate is Richard Amion. Amion has tallied 13 RBIs and a .333 batting average in 51 at bats.

The Maroon & White enter the competition batting .252 as a team with 46 RBIs. T.J. Lindsey has a team high .483 batting average, while Patrick Dodson holds a team high eight runs batted in.

This contest will take place at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex and can be followed via live stats and video stream.

First pitch for Saturday’s double-header is set for 1:00 p.m. while Sunday’s game will begin at 4:00 p.m.
