Baseball welcomes Alabama State to “The Hill”

NORMAL – It’s the baseball version of the Magic City Classic as the Bulldogs welcome the Hornets of Alabama State University on Saturday and Sunday, April 13^th - 14^th.

A&M comes in with a 3-27 overall record and a 1-10 league mark. They will lean on Austin Hulsey who leads the team with a .315 batting average with nine doubles and 21 runs batted in.

Josh Freeman looks to give the Maroon & White another win in the Eastern Division when he takes to the mound with his 2-7 win-loss record with a team leading 29 strikeouts in 10 appearances.

State brings in a 19-16 record and a 10-5 conference mark. They are led by Waldyvan Estrada who is batting .336 with 20 runs, 41 hits and seven homeruns.

The doubleheader will begin on Saturday, April 13^th, with a 1 p.m. first pitch. The final contest of the series will take place on Sunday, April 14^th, with a 1 p.m. start time.

All games will be played at the Bulldog baseball field and are free and open to the public.
